Observations of total occultations
-at the limit of a WATEC camera-

Dr. Eberhard  H. R. Bredner
Dolberg, Germany

Dr. Wolfgang Beisker created and constructed the famous IOC (IOTA Occultation Camera) some year ago. Andrew Elliott first reported on an ESOP about the camera WATEC, meanwhile IOTA/ES  members use also another camera Mintron.

All these cameras have a very high sensitive proof. The author reports his experience from observations this spring of more than 100 disappearances in 6 nights. Main point of this contribution is the spectral sensitivity and the reduction of the video tape. The difficult situation of predictions for a given set –camera/telescope-will be discussed.

At the end the reduction was only possible by setting the programm LOW 3.0 to a telescope aperture of 100 cm.
